Maris grew up here in Athens, Georgia before moving to Baltimore, MD where she pursued a degree in Communications at Towson University. This led to a career in Country Club Management and Event Coordination. The creative side of the event industry fueled her innate passion for design and creating beautiful spaces. After nearly 7 years in Maryland, she moved back to Athens and studied Interior Design at Athens Technical College.
Her background in different facets of the design field; including upholstery and textiles, as well as window treatments and custom cabinetry design brings years of knowledge and experience to each design project.

In her free time, she loves spending time with her husband, their daughter, and her bonus daughter​, cheering on the Dawgs, and spending time outside at their home in Winterville.
